Picture of Nic.

Hi everyone, just wanted to post a recent picture of Nic from Iraq. He is with one of the military working dogs, coincidently named Nick. He is doing well there. We are doing well here as well. I will post again soon. We have been busy and I haven't gotten an update on here lately, but I'll do that soon! Thanks again for the love and prayers. They are appreciated more than you know.

Bad weekend.

Well we had quite the interesting weekend this weekend. I spent most of it in the ER (Pequot) for myself. UGH. It is all turning out ok, I just need to figure out how to get my pain to go away WITHOUT all the medication they had to put me on. Anyone have TMJ? They think that is what is going on with me and it is stinky. Today I'm going to out and buy myself a guard to wear at night so I don't clench my jaw and keep getting this awful head and ear ache. Stress can really do a number on you. My mind feels fine, my spirit is doing well, but my body just won't let go of the stress. Rather frustrating. I am doing every preventative measure possible to keep my mind and body as stress free as possible. So hopefully this night guard thing will work. I'm going to try the 'cheaper' way first (go to Dick's Sporting Goods and buy myself a sports guard) before I go to the dentist to be fit for a mouth guard. I was really bummed out when I was talking to my mom yesterday and she made some really wonderful points to me, talking about Timothy and Paul (if you don't know the stories, look them up in the Bible, they are very good). I just couldn't understand how I was doing EVERYTHING humanly possible to alleviate my stress and still have it. But God still gave a thorn to Paul (who certainly had TONS of faith) and a stomach ailment to Timothy. So I know it is certainly because I'm not relying 'enough' on God, but it sure feels that way. That was the only thing that was coming to my mind when I was humanly trying to figure out how to fix myself. UGH. Thank God for Him and for moms who are wonderful enough to point those things out (even though she is down and out herself with pneumonia!). Oh yeah and I had also gone into the ER for mastitis! So there goes my try with weaning Mr. Preston!!!! I'm just going to implement my nightly feeding again and eventually give it up, but this time VERY slowly. :) But in much better news, Preston is now a full time walker! It is so funny to see him toddling around the house all the time. The girls think it is a riot!!! Kassy is enrolled in a new ballet class, that we are starting tonight, so we are all very excited about that! I also went to the Magnet school in New London for a tour for Lilly. I put in an application for enrollment for next year. So I will find out at the end of April if she made it in (they are all chosen through a lottery system). I will keep everyone up to date on that. Also, God has really been good to us!! Nic has now been in Iraq for about two weeks and he is doing very well. He is safe and sound and still trying to get used to all the helicopters flying around and the morters flying. UGH!! (Stress on a wife anyone?!) But he has been able to call me for a few minutes EVERY DAY!!! We are thrilled and I am definitely relieved to hear from him each and every day to know that he is safe. Please, please keep praying for him and his safety along with all the other brave men and women serving in all the war torn parts of the world. Anyway, better get started on my day. :) Please continue to pray for us.
