What a joyous Christmas.
We had a WONDERFUL Christmas here in the Fort household. Nic actually came home for Christmas! We were shocked and totally thrilled that the military actually was able to make something like that happen for us. Since he is still at Fort Bragg (in NC) they were able to let him drive home for a few days. It was awesome! Incredibly hard to say goodbye again, but very much worth it. Now I need to get us back to a good routine again. Also my WHOLE family came for Christmas eve and Christmas day! We have a big enough house now that we can fit everyone comfortably for the night! So all the kids got to wake up together. It was awesome, I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas! I was so blessed to have all my family here with me to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I love Christmas so much! My mom started a great tradition when Lilly was a baby to have a birthday cake for Jesus. After we eat our Christmas dinner we sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and let all the kids blow out the candle on the birthday cake. It is a great tradition, always keeping the focus where it should be. Directly on the fact that it is Jesus' birthday and not just Santa brings us presents day. Even if we had no presents to open, our day would still be just as wonderful because our Saviour was born on this day!!!
